Cannabis Industry Spotlight: Ardent

As the cannabis industry evolves, consumers are always seeking new and innovative ways to ingest. Ardent is one such brand, as the device is a simple way to speed up the process of decarboxylation. In this article, we discuss the ins and outs of the Ardent and provide some refresher on decarboxylation.

Cooking with cannabis has been growing in significant popularity since the pandemic has forced everyone inside their homes. Room temperature cannabis buds contain a cannabinoid called THC-A, which needs to be heated up to the proper temperature to convert to the psychoactive compound THC.

Decarboxylation Made Easy

Ardent makes the decarboxylation process much easier than it normally has been, as cooking with cannabis buds must be heated up to the proper temperature to activate THC. This can be a tricky and messy process to get cannabis buds heated up the way they should be - usually involving an oven. The decarb process with the Ardent Nova Lift product is simple. All you do is load your buds and give the device about 90 minutes to activate the cannabinoids and other compounds. Once the 90 minutes is up, you can add your activated buds to your favorite dish, or you can use your flower to infuse with a tincture or a beverage, or you can use it to make your topicals or other products.

Other Awesome Features of the Ardent Nova

The Ardent Nova works with more than just flower. It also works with kief and concentrates as well. The Nova is considered to be a botanical activator, meaning it will fully activate your flower or oils. Unlike the odor produced when going through the decarb process traditionally at home, the Arden Nova is odorless and mess-free. The Nova is a breeze to operate - all you do is load your material, and press the only button on the device. It’s that simple.

Not to mention, decarbing the traditional way has no doubt caused many home consumers to ruin their flower and other medicines. That risk and the money wasted because of it is completely removed with the Ardent Nova. Those of us who have cooked with cannabis at home have probably ruined our fair share of medicine, and the Ardent Nova removes this risk entirely. The Ardent Nova holds up to an entire ounce of material, which is quite a bit - to say the least!

The Ardent Nova isn’t exactly cheap - it will set you back about $300. However, if you account for just one ounce of flower saved instead of being otherwise possibly ruined, the Nova pays for itself. The device is about five inches high and eight inches wide and weighs a little over 2 pounds. These dimensions make it easy to use your decarb device just about anywhere.

Cannabis-Infused Food and Beverages - the Evolved Method of Consumption

As the future of cannabis consumption evolves, enthusiasts of the plant medicine are looking for healthier alternatives than the regular method of smoking. Smoking and vaping will still likely be a popular method of consumption, but we see eating or drinking infused products just continuing to gain popularity. As we’ve mentioned several times before, we see cooking with cannabis and otherwise eating or drinking infused products as the way of the future.

There are many options for cooking at home with cannabis - including kief oil, infused coconut oil, and tinctures. In fact, cannabis-infused beverages were a considerable part of the overall sales of the industry in 2020, and those figures will only increase as we move forward. With more policy changes likely to happen within legal cannabis, we will see more states being able to sell popular cannabis-infused food and beverage products. Naturally, products like the Ardent Nova botanical activator will be at the forefront of our evolving industry.
