5 Best Ways to Sober Up After Consuming too Much

As fun as consuming cannabis is, sometimes we underestimate how potent the substance is or overestimate what we can handle. If you find yourself getting too high, here are five ways to help you sober up.

  • Go for a walk outside. Getting for a walk and getting some fresh air is a great way to sober up if you get too high. The exercise gets your blood flowing, which helps to move the THC out of your blood faster, as well as releasing endorphins in your brain that can reduce the stress and anxiety that comes with the paranoia of being too high.
  • Drink water. One of the main reasons you get a hangover from drinking is due to dehydration. When it comes to being too high, drinking plenty of water will help flush cannabinoids out of your system a little quicker as well as help you avoid feeling lightheaded.
  • Eat. When you eat, blood goes to your stomach to start the digestion process. This reduces the amount of blood flowing through your brain, which helps to counterbalance the psychoactive effects of THC. And because cannabis is fat-soluble (meaning it is stored in your fatty tissues), the cannabinoids will metabolize more quickly when they bind with the fat in the food that you eat. When you’re too high, you will likely get the munchies anyway, so eating makes sense. Just do your best to eat healthy if you can, and try to avoid binging. We recommend getting some good fat - avocados or tacos with guacamole are a great choice.

  • Talk with someone. One of the best ways to get a hold of yourself if you feel too high is to socialize. It especially helps if you talk with a friend who knows what you’re going through. They can help talk you down, distract you, and help you ride it out until you sober up.
  • Give it time. Like the song says, time is on my side. When it comes down to it, the best way to sober up is to give it time. This is true no matter what drug you consume. Give it time, and be sure to stop consuming. This should go without saying, but if you feel too high, don’t consume anymore. Save it for another day.

Consume Responsibly!

Gone are the days of the stereotypical that gets too high day in and day out. That meme is played out, and it does nothing to move our incredible industry forward. So please, be a part of the solution and consume responsibly! Thanks for reading HashDash content!
